Rita Mhley
President, Mhley / Davis & Associates Inc.

RITA MHLEY – communications consultant, writer/editor, ghostwriter, photojournalist, publicist, project manager, entrepreneur – leads the MD&A firm to successfully meet corporate and association clients' needs for high-impact communications. Having earned an MA in Communications from the Annenberg School for Communications at the University of Pennsylvania, she is expert at targeting messages to reach specific audiences.
To reintroduce natural gas air conditioning into the US, Mhley spearheaded a major technology marketing campaign via magazine, newsletter, case studies, equipment catalogs, and feature articles on behalf of the American Gas Cooling Center / American Gas Association and equipment manufacturers including York, Carrier and Trane.
To promote civil engineering conferences, Mhley created compelling collateral materials – programs, direct mail, news stories, ads, web graphics, and corporate logos – for the American Society of Civil Engineers. She played a key role in launching ASCE's Geo- and Structural Engineering Institutes through communications outreach planning; participated in campaigns to boost ASCE's membership, announce availability of Cybrarian services and ExCEEd courses, and promote civil engineering among university students.
As an East Coast information specialist with the USDA Forest Service, she promoted forestry research to national audiences. She is author of two books – a history of Washington DC's Jewish community and a Maine forest resource guide.
